Each School of Pharmacy is invited to nominate a candidate who, in addition to academic achievement, has shown leadership and commitment to the profession and its future through his/her involvement in pharmaceutical affairs and by doing so is considered to have the potential to emulate the example set by the late Brian Seymour.

The five nominated candidates, each of them a winner in their own right, were:

·        Miss Sarah-Anne Gibbs (Rhodes University)

·        Mr Nitesh Brijlal  (University of  KZN)

·        Miss Stephanie De Rapper (Wits University)

·        Mr Tendai Madidi (University of the Western Cape)

·        Miss Wouda Muller (North-West University Potchefstroom)

·        Mr Balushi Sekele (University of Limpopo)
